TPE Flexible 3D Printing Filament Canada

Thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) is a flexible filament with a smooth, soft and rubbery texture. The TPE class of thermoplastics is the basis for most flexible filaments.

TPE vs TPU:
NOTE: Our TPE and TPU filament are NOT the same...

  1. The main difference between our TPU and TPE filament is that the density of TPU is approximately thirty percent higher than the density of TPE. This means TPE objects will be lighter than TPU objects.
  2. If overstretched by force, TPE will permanently deform and will not spring back to its original shape. TPU on the other hand, if overstretched, will either spring back or simply rip if enough force is applied. It is important to mention that both materials are very tough and will only rip apart under very extreme tension.
  3. TPU has a smooth texture, and is even glossy, while TPE has a more "rubbery" texture and is matte.
  4. Choose TPU when you want the part to be very tough, durable and yet flexible. Choose TPE when you want the part to be softer to the touch and have a more rubbery texture.
  5. TPU is generally considered to be easier to 3D print than TPE.

Our TPE shore hardness is: 85A

TPE is resistant to oil, grease and abrasions and has many applications including; automotive, power tools, sporting goods, medical devices, drive belts, footwear, inflatable rafts, profile applications, etc.

Additional features:

  • low-temperature performance
  • mechanical properties
  • rubber-like elasticity and feel/texture.
  • oil, grease & abrasion resistance

STORAGE: One large resealable bag with slider + an extra desiccant pack are included with every spool. The bag and extra desiccant are a great way to safely store your filament spool when not in use. It keeps your filament bone dry & free from any dust or dirt particles, so it's always ready for your next print.

Temperature:

Notes:

220°C - 240°C
  • Print SLOW. Please try printing at 30mm/s or even less.
  • Set your print bed temperature to approximately 85°C-95°C (or even higher if not sticking)
  • Will stick to most common surfaces such as blue tape etc.
  • Cooling fan: On
  • Performs best in printers with direct-drive extruders.
  • Reduce retraction.
  • When switching from another polymer (such as ABS or PLA) purge thoroughly before starting a print.
